A low-protein diet concomitant with high calorie intake preserves renal function and structure in diabetic OLETF rats
AbstractBackground Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats, a spontaneous type 2 diabetes model, were used to clarify whether and how a low-protein diet prevents progressive diabetic nephropathy, in terms of functional and structural parameters.
