Adiponectin is a predictor of bone mineral density in middle-aged premenopausal women

Abstract Summary  Adipose-modulated biochemical signal that explains some of the association between fat mass and bone mineral density (BMD) is adiponectin. The results demonstrated an independent association between adiponectin and BMD, while the influence of adiponectin on bone mineral content is mediated by fat free mass in middle-aged women.
